Location

The Start is on the lane just north of Blackwell Grange Hotel's walled garden car park, at What3words reference ///open.quite.hugs.

You should be able to park along the roadside on Blackwell Lane (which runs along the NW side of Blackwell Park).  From there, walk along the access track leading to the hotel.  Follow this link to see the location of the entrance to the track on Google maps.  The What3words reference is ///timing.spun.splash and the postcode is DL3 8QQ.

Facilities

Sorry.  There are no public toilets nearby.  There are public toilets in South Park and customer toilets in Sainsbury's (just south of Darlington town centre).

>>	Beginners	1.6 km	20m climb	15 controls

In the MapRun6 app, Select Event and look for UK / County Durham / Darlington / Blackwell VOCs xxxxx, where xxxxx is Experienced, Intermediate or Beginners.

The competition area is well-maintained urban parkland.  Please take care when crossing the hotel access road.

Please note that the vegetation in the wooded areas gets quite high during the summer, so full leg cover is advisable at this time of year.

Paper maps

If you'd prefer to use a paper map rather than the one on your smartphone (which is going to be quite small and can be tricky to see in bright sunlight) you can download a PDF copy of the map from the Go Orienteering web site and print it off at home.
Note: On the Go Orienteering web site, add the relevant map to your basket and then go through the checkout process.  You won't be charged anything.

If you don't have a suitable printer, Phill Batts is offering a map printing service.

Results

You can access the results via the MapRun Console.  Open the menu (three horizontal lines at the top left hand corner of the window), select Leader Board, and then filter by Blackwell.  (You might need to set the Days History to a large number first.)
