Location:

Six Fields – which was previously called Hartburn Beck – is located in East Hartburn on the south side of Stockton-on-Tees and is easily accessible from the A66.

Parking will be in the Stockton West End Bowls Club car park.   The postcode is TS18 5BG, the grid reference for the car park entrance is NZ 431179 and the What3words reference is ///finest.spends.tidy.  Please be courteous to the bowls players who will be sharing the car park with us.

Please be courteous to the bowls players who will be sharing the car park with us, and please park at the end of the car park nearest the road, leaving the spaces closer to the clubhouse for bowls club members.  (They have a lunchtime bowling match in the Stuart Waites Memorial Trophy competition.)

Enquiries / Download will be in the lobby of the bowls clubhouse.  NO MUDDY SHOES are allowed in the building.

Terrain:

Hartburn Beck and the Six Fields nature reserve are mainly gently undulating former grass farmland with hedgerows and ponds.

Due to nettles and brambles, full leg cover is mandatory.

Control descriptions will be printed on the map and loose copies will be available at the Start.

Punching system:

SPORTident electronic punching will be used.

The control boxes will be activated to enable SIAC cards to operate in touch-free mode ..... but please note that you will need to punch the conventional way at the Start and Finish.

If you need to hire an SI-card (£1 hire charge), please order it via the Racesignup online entry system and collect it from Download before your run.  Remember to return it as you download, and take care of it, as there will be a £20 charge if you lose it.  A limited number of SI-cards will be available for hire on the day, but please pre-order via the online entry system if at all possible.

Entries:

If at all possible, please pre-enter via Racesignup.  Online entries close at midnight on Thursday 25-Jun-2026.

There will be limited entry on the day, subject to the availability of maps.

Fees:
The entry fees are:
Seniors on Long or Medium:     £5.00
Seniors on Short:£2.00
Juniors / Students:£2.00 
Starts:

10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.       Courses close at 12:30 p.m.

The Start and Finish are close to the car park.  Follow the signs.

Second run: You can run a second course for free, subject to map availability.  Register when you download after your first run, and please start your first run early enough to enable you to finish your second run before the courses close.
Facilities:

Competitors will have access to the toilets in the bowls clubhouse.

The bowls clubhouse bar will be open, serving hot and cold drinks and bar snacks.

First aid at Download.

Dogs:

Well behaved dogs are welcome at this event.

You can take your dog out on your course provided that you keep it on a short lead and take great care not to cause a hazard to members of the public or other competitors.

Safety:

A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the Organiser, but please remember that competitors take part at their own risk.  Orienteering is an adventure sport – your safety while orienteering is your own responsibility.

Please make sure that you download even if you do not complete your course.

CLOK strongly recommends that you carry a whistle whilst participating in this (and every) orienteering event.
