CLOK logo
Location:

The event will be O signed from Boltby Village, which is best approached from either the A19 at Knayton then via Upsall, or the A170 a mile east of Thirsk then via Felixkirk.

The main parking is along the edge of well maintained forest roads within Boltby Forest. Access is half way up Sneck Yate Bank, north-east of Boltby Village, at grid reference SE 502871. The closest postcode is YO7 2HU (part way up Sneck Yate Bank). Unless otherwise instructed, please DO NOT take the turning 100m further up the bank that leads to High Paradise Farm.

From the entrance to the forest proceed for 2 miles along forest roads to park as directed. Note the Blue, Brown and Black courses cross the forest roads you drive along, so please drive slowly and with care.

Hired SI-card collection and download are at the end of the southern end of the forest parking. 300m walk up the hill from end of the parking is High Paradise Farm which has a cafe for post-run refreshments!

Terrain:

Typical North Yorkshire forest with a mix of runability and visibility, on a sloping valley with some rock and contour detail. Blue, Brown and Black courses also visit Dale Town Moor, which has a variety of pits and depressions.

Previous maps from events in 2019 and 2018.

Planner's notes:

There is a short taped route on the Yellow course, exiting control number 2. This takes competitors to a path leading to number 3, but not all the way to number 3.

Competitors may find additional mountain bike tracks in the area. We've tried to update the map appropriately, but more may have appeared in recent weeks.

Be aware there may be small patches of wire/objects on the moorland. Where these are near to controls, we have taped them with hazard tape.

Blue, Brown and Black must only cross between forest and moorland at one of the three crossing points makred on the map, and nowhere else on the fence overprinted in purple.
