Location:

Parking will be along the edge of well maintained forrest roads within Boltby Forest.  Access to the forest is half way up Sneck Yate Bank, north-east of Boltby Village, at grid reference SE 502871.  The closest postcode is YO7 2HU.

The event will be O signed from Boltby Village, which is best approached from either the A19 at Knayton, then via Upsall, or the A170 a mile east of Thirsk, then via Felixkirk.

Terrain:

Typical North Yorkshire forest with a mix of runability and visibility.  The forest is on a sloping valley with some rock and contour detail.

Please note that there are ticks in this area.  Full leg cover is mandatory and full arm cover is recommended.  Also, you should check yourself for ticks after the event.

Courses:

60 minute score and 45 minute score.

Note: Runners may count in all the classes for which they are age-eligible on the course that they run.  (This means that it is possible for someone to win in more than one class.)

Punching system:

SPORTident electronic punching will be used.

SI-cards will be available for hire on the day at a cost of £1 each.  Please look after your hired SI card as there will be a £40 charge for any lost SI-card.

Registration: 10 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.
Starts:

Mass starts at 11:00 a.m for the 60 minutes score and 11:05 a.m. for the 45 minutes score.

Courses close at 12:30 p.m.

The Start and Finish are a short walk from assembly / parking.

Fees:

Seniors:   £7.00   (£2.00 surcharge for non-members of British Orienteering)

Juniors / Students / Benefits recipients:   £2.00

Facilities:

Toilet in the Assembly area.

Please bring your own water as no refreshments will be provided.

Dogs: Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the parking area, but dogs are not allowed out into the competition area.

CLOK strongly recommends that you carry a whistle whilst participating in this (and every) orienteering event.

Lone drivers: Please leave labelled car keys at Registration.

Please make sure that you download even if you do not complete your course.

Full leg cover is compulsory.

Insurance: Please note that if you have competed in three orienteering events registered with British Orienteering and you have not joined an orienteering club which is a member of British Orienteering then you are not covered by our public liability insurance.
