Organised outdoor sports – including orienteering – will be allowed to resume from Wednesday 2‑Dec‑2020.  However, it looks as if people living in a Tier 3 area might not be allowed to travel outside their local area, and people living in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 area are being told not to travel into a Tier 3 area.  This could obviously cause some issues if part or all of CLOK's area gets put into Tier 3.  Watch this space for updates as things become clearer.

British Orienteering has advised us that all orienteering events in England are being suspended while the Autumn lockdown restrictions remain in force.  The full statement is available on the British Orienteering web site.

We have therefore postponed the urban event at Hemlington Lake (14‑Nov‑2020), the sprint event at Kiplin Hall (21‑Nov‑2020) and the NE Score Championships on Dale Town Moor on (22‑Nov‑2020).

If you've already put in your entry for the Hemlington Lake event, you don't need to do anything.  We'll cancel all the entries and remove the entry fee from your account in the online entry system.

We've also decided that in the current circumstances it's not appropriate to hold our annual – very sociable – New Year Team Score event on 3‑Jan‑2021.  The plan is to re-schedule this event, combined with a picnic, some time next summer (maybe June).

We now have quite a few orienteering events planned and ready to go as soon as the circumstances are right and we can get the necessary access permissions.  As well as the Hemlington Lake, Kiplin Hall and Dale Town Moor events, we've also done the planning for events at Stockton Riverside, Hardwick Park and Coatham Wood.  Later in November, once we've got a better understanding of the Covid situation and what tier Teesside, Darlington and the North East are likely to be in during December and January, we'll work out when to hold all these events.

In the meantime, there's a range of Virtual Orienteering Challenges for you to tackle on an individual basis (or with the permitted one oher person from a different household), and we'll shortly be organising some 'Lamp O' events.  Keep checking the web site for details.
