invites you to a Summer Series evening event (Level D) at
Ormesby Hall
on Tuesday 12th June 2018

This is the fourth event in a series of six.


Parking will be in the Ormesby Hall car park, which is accessed via Church Lane.  Turn south off Ormesby High Street (which is the eastwards extension of Ladgate Lane) diagonally across from The Fountain public house.  The grid reference of the entrance to the car park is NZ 529168 and the Ormesby Hall postcode is TS7 9AU.

Registration will be a short distance from the car park.  Follow signs / tapes.


The Ormesby Hall grounds consist of a combination of mixed woodland, parkland, gardens and tracks.

Please note that the crop fields are out of bounds.

Note:  The Long course will extend into Stewart Park.  This includes a minor road crossing, so competitors on the Long course must be over 16 years old on the day of the event.

You can run a second course for free!  If you'd like to do this, please turn up early for your first run so that you have time to complete your second run before the courses close.

The Long course has two maps printed back to back.

The control descriptions will be printed on the maps, and separate loose copies will be available at Registration.

Punching system:

SPORTident electronic punching will be used.

SI-cards will be available for loan on the evening free of charge.  Please look after your borrowed SI card as there will be a £40 charge if you lose it.

Registration: 5 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Starts: 5 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.         Courses close at 7 p.m.
Seniors on the Medium or Long course:     £4.00
Seniors on the Short course:£1.50
Juniors / Students (with ID):£1.50

First aid at Registration.  Please bring your own refreshments.

There are toilets in the Ormesby Hall lower courtyard.

Dogs: Well behaved dogs are welcome in the Registration area, but must not be taken out into the competition area.

CLOK strongly recommends that you carry a whistle whilst participating in this (and every) orienteering event.

A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the Organiser, but please remember that competitors take part at their own risk.  Orienteering is an adventure sport – your safety while orienteering is your own responsibility.

Insurance: Please note that if you have competed in three orienteering events registered with British Orienteering and you have not joined an orienteering club which is a member of British Orienteering then you are not covered by our public liability insurance.
