Cleveland Orienteering Klub invites you to a NE Orienteering League event at Hutton Lowcross on Sunday 29th April 2018 |

Location: |
Parking and registration will be at the Christmas Tree car park above Hutton Village near Guisborough. The grid reference of the car park is NZ 604135. The nearest postcode is TS14 8EP ... but please note that this is in Hutton Village. Click on the link to see a map. You can zoom in (and, optionally, switch to Satellite mode) to see the details of the final approach to the event. You can also get directions if you specify your starting location. From the A171, turn south (signposted Great Ayton) onto the A173 at the roundabout north-west of Guisborough. Take the first left on to Stokesley Road, go up and over a slight hill, then turn right on to The Avenue at grid reference NZ 595154. Where the road takes a 90 degree bend to the left (and becomes Hutton Lane), turn right towards Hutton Village. Follow the road round through Hutton Village, through a gate and up the hill into the woods. At the top of the hill, turn left to the car park. Please drive considerately through Hutton Village and ensure that you shut the gate when arriving or leaving. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Terrain: | Well established woodland with good path network. Some areas have been felled and re-planted. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

Scale 1:10,000 A4 size The courses will be overprinted on the maps, which will be printed on waterproof paper. The control descriptions will be printed on the maps, and separate loose copies will be available at Registration. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Punching system: |
SPORTident electronic punching will be used. All versions of SI-card can be used. The controls will not be enabled for touch-free punching, but competitors can still punch manually with the newer SIAC cards. SI-cards will be available for hire on the day at a cost of £1 each. Please look after your hired SI card as there will be a £40 charge for any lost SI-card. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

Dogs: | Well behaved dogs are welcome in the car park, but are not allowed out on to the courses. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the Organiser, but please remember that competitors take part at their own risk. Orienteering is an adventure sport your safety while orienteering is your own responsibility. If you have a relevant medical condition, please complete the form at Registration. Lone drivers: Please leave labelled car keys at Registration. CLOK strongly recommends that you carry a whistle whilst participating in this (and every) orienteering event. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Insurance: | Please note that if you have competed in three orienteering events registered with British Orienteering and you have not joined an orienteering club which is a member of British Orienteering then you are not covered by our public liability insurance. |
