Hutton Mulgrave & Skelder Woods
on Sunday 5th February 2012

Location:

Skelder Road.  Grid reference NZ 849094.

Parking is at the side of a quiet public road.  Please follow the instructions of the parking stewards.  We need to keep the road clear and safe.

The event will be signed from the A171 at Skelder Hill, 6 km west of Whitby.
Note: The exit back on to the A171 is quite difficult.  Please take great care or leave the event via Dunsley and Newholm.

Terrain:

Technically challenging but runnable terraine under mixed woodland of wide variety.  We have mature beach, pine and larch.  Open areas with heather and scrub.  Some recent thinning.  No crags.

Courses:

White, Yellow, Orange, Light Green, Green, Blue and Brown.

Sorry, there will not be a string course at this event.

Map: 1:10,000 scale.     A4 size.     Recent selective updates.     Printed on waterproof paper.
Punching system:

SPORTident electronic punching will be used.

SI-cards will be available for hire on the day at a cost of 50p each.  There will be a £30 charge for any lost SI-card.

Please note that only v5 and v6 SI cards (numbers from 1 to 999,999) can be used at this event, as we will be using some older SI control boxes.  If you have a v8 or v9 SI card then please visit Registration to exchange it – free of charge – for a v5 SI card for this event.

Registration: 10 a.m. - 12 noon
Note: If you are going to bring a group of competitors to this event then please contact the Organiser by Wednesday 1-Feb-2012 so that we can arrange to print sufficient maps.
Starts: 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.         Courses close at 2:30 p.m.
Fees:

Seniors:   £7.00     (£2.00 discount for British Orienteering members on production of a BO membership card)
Juniors / Students / Benefit recipients:  £2.00

Facilities: Toilet.
Please note that there will be no drinks at the Finish.  Please bring your own.
Results: Split times printouts will be available at the event.   Full results will be available as soon as possible after the event on the CLOK web site at www.clok.org.uk.
Dogs: Dogs are allowed in the parking and Registration area, but must be kept on leads.  Dogs are not allowed in the competition area.
