Organiser's Comments
We hope you enjoyed your romp around Stockton riverside on a rather chilly evening. As we stamped around waiting for you to return it was hard to believe we ran the first of these events in shorts and a tee shirt ..... (unless of course you are Tim Hunter who still dresses that way!)
To echo previous comments, the free Internet-based mapping was fairly simple if we can manage it then all of you certainly can. We tried to take into account the lessons from the last event with larger clue fonts printed bold, plus we tried to be extra careful about centring the control circles sometimes actually putting them in the wrong place just to emphasize where we wanted you to go. If you thought about planning one we would recommend printing the map area off and taking it with you, as what you get on the screen and what you get in the print-out are not always exactly the same.
We did realize during planning that there may be an issue with the way the software places the control number adjacent to the control circle. We could not figure out how to change this so we thought simply warning you at the start would suffice. However, in the heat of battle that message got lost for some of you. We would have liked to have made better use of the different levels around the canals but this unfortunately scuppered that. Maybe next time.
