Cleveland Orienteering Klub invites you to a Summer Series evening event at Guisborough Woods on Wednesday 14th July 2010 |

| Location: |
Parking will be at the Christmas Tree car park above Hutton Village near Guisborough. The grid reference is NZ 604135. Please drive considerately through Hutton Village. From the A171, turn south signposted Great Ayton on to the A173 at the roundabout north-west of Guisborough. Take the first left on to Stokesley Road, go up and over a slight hill, and then turn right on to The Avenue at grid reference NZ 595154. Where the road takes a 90 degree bend to the left (and becomes Hutton Lane), turn right towards Hutton Village. Follow the road round through Hutton Village, through a gate and up a hill into the woods. At the top of a hill, turn left to the car park. |
| Terrain: | Mixed woodland with many paths and tracks. Steep in places. |
| Courses: | This event will use 'box' courses. There will be three boxes, with 6 controls in each box. Short course runners should punch at 2 controls in each box, Medium course runners should punch at 4 controls in each box and Long course should punch at all 6 controls in each box. Typical course lengths are expected to be Short - 2.5 km, Medium - 3.5 km and Long 5 km. |
| Map: | 1:10,000 scale, updated for this event. Pre-marked and either bagged or printed on waterproof paper. |
| Punching system: | This event will use manual timing and traditional orienteering kites and punches. Electronic punching will not be used. |

5:15 - 6:45 p.m. If you are going to bring a group of competitors to this event then please let the Organiser know in order to help us to print the right numbers of maps. |
| Starts: | 5:30 - 7 p.m. Courses close at 8:30 p.m. |

| Facilities: | Please note that there will be no toilets at this event. |
| Dogs: | Well behaved dogs are welcome at this event. |
