Cleveland Orienteering Klub invites you to the Acorn Regional Event on Cringle & Cold Moors on Sunday 21st March 2010 |

This event incorporates the North-East Orienteering Championships.
| Location: |
Cringle and Cold Moors are 6 km south of Stokesley. The event will be signed from Carlton-in-Cleveland village at grid reference NZ 510041. Parking will be on hard standing or well-drained grassland at grid reference NZ 523030 beside Lord Stone's Café. Assembly and toilets are next to the parking area. | ||||||||||||||
| Terrain: | The area is dominated by two steep sided hills Cringle Moor and Cold Moor covered with sheep-cropped grass, heather (deep in places) and some mature runnable pine woodland. There are lots of rock features and contour detail. The lower western slopes of Cringle Moor have been converted into a delightful country park by the owner, with clumps of young trees, several ponds and an intricate network of mown paths. | ||||||||||||||
| Courses: | A range of 9 Colour Coded courses from White to Black. Please note that to be eligible for the NE Championships you need to enter a Championship age class rather than a colour coded course. See the Entries Information page for details. | ||||||||||||||

Pre-entry is strongly advised, although there may be some entries on the day depending on map availability. Please enter via the on-line entry system at Fabian 4. Paper entries on a Standard Entry Form can be sent to the Organiser at Glebe House, East Harlsey, Northallerton DL6 2BL Pre-entries close at midnight on Monday 15-Mar-2010. The on-line entry system will continue to accept entries until midnight on Friday 19-Mar-2010 ........ but you will be charged the late entry fee, and limitations on map availability mean that you will not be guaranteed entry to your chosen course. There will also be be entry on the day for the White, Yellow, Orange and Light Green courses. Free string course. | ||||||||||||||
| Punching system: | SPORTident electronic punching will be used. SI cards will be available for hire on the day at a cost of 50p each. There will be a £30 charge for any lost SI-card. | ||||||||||||||

| Dogs: | Well behaved dogs are welcome in the parking and Assembly areas. No dogs in the competition area, please. | ||||||||||||||

Please make sure that you download even if you do not complete your
course. Lone drivers: Please leave your (labelled) car keys at Enquiries as a safety check. CLOK strongly recommends that you carry a whistle whilst participating in this (and every) orienteering event. Cagoules may be required. If so, a notice will be displayed in the Assembly Area. Please remember that competitors take part at their own risk. Your safety whilst orienteering is your own responsibility. |
