Sunday 21-Mar-2010

Summary

The 2010 Acorn Regional Event is being held on Cringle and Cold Moors, which are on the northern edge of the North York Moors at the top of Carlton Bank by Lord Stones Cafe.  This event incorporates the North-East Orienteering Championships.

CLOK is re-introducing the name Acorn for its premier Regional Event each year.  With most Sunday events now using the colour coded system, it is difficult for competitors to know which are the better events.  We intend to use the best areas – with top class maps and our most experienced planners – for each year's Acorn event.

The Acorn is the symbol of the Cleveland Way, which runs through – or close to – most of our best orienteering areas.  About 3 km of the Cleveland Way runs across Cringle Moor and Cold Moor.
