We hope you enjoyed Live Moor Plantation.  Conditions were ideal today, and it is a lovely wood for orienteering – open, runnable (if steep), with all kinds of navigational interest.  This is our first use of the area for many years, perhaps since the JK in 1996.  The map has stood the test of time remarkably well, though we did notice a few areas needing attention for next time.  My thanks to:

  • Duncan Archer for planning the exercises, writing the coaching notes and making some map tweaks.
  • Rob Bailey for putting out controls, and NEJS for bringing them in again.
  • and especially to Joan Selby not only for negotiating access with Snilesworth Trust, but also arranging the parking.

This event was intended to be one of three training events in late winter but access issues and snow-delayed mapping have put paid to the other two.  We'll start thinking earlier for next year.
