The fourth and final event in the Autumn Short Race Series held between September and December 2009.

Location: Teesside University, Middlesbrough.  Grid reference NZ 495195.  Lots of local, public car parking.  Assembly is at the Olympia building, numbered 59 on the Campus Map. There will be toilets and somewhere to leave kit while you run.
Terrain: Compact and intricate urban University site, with a range of buildings, landscaped areas, cut throughs and blind alleys. Both courses cross one traffic-calmed public road, which is expected to be quiet. The crossing will be marshalled and will be 'timed out' of your overall time.   The area includes several University car parks which are expected to be very quiet on the day. However all competitors should be aware of this, and parents should consider shadowing younger children.
Courses: Planned by Chris Wright.
A   –   Approximately 2.1 km
B   –   Approximately 1.1 km, easy navigation
Both courses will feature fast running all the way.  Anyone can have a go! The course distances may look lower than normal, but you will rarely be running along the straight line!
Map: 1:3,000 scale.   New 'ISSOM sprint' map for this event.   A4 sized on waterproof paper. If you are not familiar with Urban 'sprint' Maps, you can download an excellent guide here. It shows how these maps represent out of bounds areas, forbidden areas, and fences that a forbidden to cross. Also in addition to the standard marking, we have chosen to indicate those areas that are used as car parks and may be obstructed during the event - this is shown on the key in the example map.
