invites you to two Local Orienteering Events at
COATHAM WOODS
on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th November 2009

Location:

Parking for the Night Event on Saturday 14-Nov-2009 is in the public car park off the minor road between Long Newton and Urlay Nook.  The grid reference is NZ 396154.

Parking for the Day Event on Sunday 15-Nov-2009 is at the Elementis site close to the A67 at grid reference NZ 401147.

The events will be signed from both the A67 and the A66.   Exit from the A66 at the new junction signed for the airport.   Exit from the A67 at the large factory at Urlay Nook.

Terrain: Coatham Woods is a new addition to the Tees Forest.  It is mainly flat, with a range of forest blocks containing trees from 1m tall to 20m.  There are two streams running through the area.
Courses: The Night Event will have three courses – TD4 Long, TD4 Short and TD3.
The Day Event will have the usual range of course from White to Brown (excluding Red).
Sorry.  There will be no string course at either event.
Map: 1:10,000 and 1:7,500 scales.   A4 size.   Maps will be printed on waterproof paper.
Punching system: This event will use Emit electronic punching.  Emit cards will be available for loan on the day.  There will be a £30 charge for any lost Emit card.
Registration:
Night Event  5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Day Event10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Note:   Please use the on-line entry system to assist the Organiser and reduce map wastage.
Starts:
Night Event   6:00 - 7:00 p.m.    Courses close at 9:30 p.m.
Day Event10:00 - 11:30 a.m.    Courses close at 1:30 p.m.
Fees: The fees for each event are as follows:-
Seniors:   £7.00     (£2.00 discount on production of a British Orienteering membership card)
Juniors / Students / UB40:  £2.00
Facilities: Toilets in the car park.   Water at the Finish.
Dogs: Well behaved dogs are welcome at this event.
Coatham Woods is a popular dog walking area and there are likely to be dogs not under close control.  Please brief your children accordingly.
