invites you to a Short Orienteering Race at
STEWART PARK, MIDDLESBROUGH
on Saturday 7th November 2009

The third event in the Autumn Short Race Series held between September and December 2009.

Location: Enter Stewart Park via the signed public entrance on the B1380 Ladgate Lane.  Grid reference NZ 517167.  Park in the Stewart Park public car park. Registration and starts are adjacent to the museum, which is signed and is approximately 400m from parking.
Terrain: Mixed parkland with open and wooded areas, ornamental gardens and buildings. Full leg cover recommended.
Courses: Planned by Chris Wright.
A   –   Approximately 2.4 km
B   –   Approximately 1.2 km
Both courses will feature fast running all the way.  Anyone can have a go!
Map: 1:4,000 scale.   Updated to ISSOM 'Sprint' standard for this event.   A4 sized on waterproof paper.
Punching system: This event will use SI electronic punching.  SI-cards will be available for hire on the day at a cost of 50p each.
Entries: There is no need to pre-enter for the races, but if you are bringing a group then please contact Linda Thornton in advance so that we can print enough maps.
Also, due to their popularity, it is essential to let Linda know by the preceeding Wednesday (4-Nov-2009) if you would like to join in the training session.
Registration: 9:30 - 10:20 a.m.
Starts: 10:00 - 10:30 a.m.
Fees: Seniors:  £2.00     Juniors / Students / UB40:  £1.00
Training: The races will be followed by a CLOK Junior training session.  Adults are also welcome.  Please let us know if you would like to participate.
Facilities: Cafe and toilets.   We will not be providing orange juice or water at the finish.  Please brind your own drinks or use the Stewart Park cafe.  Museum about Captain James Cook, the original navigator and mapper!
Dogs: Well behaved dogs are welcome at this event.
