A large turnout saw many people enjoy an event in a good area and in nice weather. It was pleasing that amongst the many entries, lots came from families. I hope those families, in particular, enjoyed their run and it would be nice to see you all again in the future.
We ran out of white and yellow maps, but with the good will and generosity of people who had completed their run and donating their maps for recycling, we managed ok. This was after estimating the map numbers at the top end and then adding some.
This event was used as a benchmark to see the affect of reducing help. Only one shift operated registration, start and parking. On the whole, this worked well. But if lessons are to be learnt, then I would need extra parking help in this sort of situation, where we have to compete with the public for limited spaces. However, thanks to the parking people, including the extra help recruited on the day and to those who gave their time at registration, the start and the string course. Thanks also to the SI team for overcoming early difficulties.
