invites you to a District Orienteering Event at
FYLINGDALES
on Sunday 16th November 2008

Location: Parking is on the south-west side of the A171 about 12 km south of Whitby.  Grid reference NZ 926009.

500 metres west of the Flask Inn, turn on to a minor road signed 'Grouse Hill Caravan Park'.  Parking is along the side of the minor road.
Terrain: Beautiful, wild and hilly moorland with a small area of broadleaf woodland, including some very good, detailed ares that have not been used before.
Courses: All the normal colour coded courses from White to Brown.
Free string course.
Map: 1:10,000 scale.
Punching system: SPORTident electronic punching will be used.  SI cards will be available for hire on the day at a cost of 50p each.  There will be a £25 charge for any lost SI-card.
Registration: 10.00 a.m. - 12.00 noon
Note:   If you are going to bring a group of competitors to this event then please contact the Organiser in advance so that we can print the right number of extra maps.
Starts: 10.30 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.       Courses close at 2:30 p.m.
Fees: Seniors:   £7.00     (£2.00 discount on production of a British Orienteering membership card)
Juniors / Students / Benefit recipients:  £2.00
Facilities: Drinks at the Finsh.   Toilets.   Pub and cafe 500 metres away.

Safety: This event is taking place on exposed moorland in November.  Please dress accordingly.
