Cleveland Orienteering Klub invites you to the North East Score Championships at SHAIBA, CATTERICK on Sunday 26th October 2008 |

| Location: | Parking will be on hardstanding at grid reference SE 156986. The event will be signposted from the A6136 on the south-east edge of Richmond at grid reference NZ 179006. Do not attempt to drive through Catterick Garrison as this road has now been closed. | |||||||||
| Terrain: |
Army training area. A mixture of rough open and small plantations with a steep
wooded valley to the north. There are many fenses to be crossed at stiles. This event is being held on an active Army training area. Do not touch any suspicious objects. Parents should make sure that all juniors understand this. | |||||||||
| Courses: |
Seniors 60 minute score. Juniors 45 minute score. A time penalty per minute or part minute will be given for anyone exceeding these times. | |||||||||
| Map: |
1:10,000 scale. 5m contour intervals. Printed on waterproof paper. Control dscriptions will be printed on the map, and loose copies will also be available at the start. | |||||||||
| Punching system: | EMIT electronic punching will be used. EMIT card hire is included in the entry fee. | |||||||||

Opens at 9:30 a.m. If possible, to assist with map printing, please register your interest for this event by email to the Organiser. (See below for the email address.) | |||||||||
| Starts: |
The start and the finish will both be at the car park. The 60 minute score will start at 11:00 a.m. The 45 minute score will start at 11:10 a.m. | |||||||||
| Fees: |
Seniors: £7.00 Juniors / Students / UB40: £4.00 Entry fees will be discounted by £2.00 for those in possession of a valid British Orienteering membership card. | |||||||||
| Facilities: | Toilets. Water at the finish. | |||||||||
| Dogs: | No dogs in the competition area. Dogs are welcome in the parking area provided that they are kept under control, but are not allowed out in the competition area. | |||||||||

This event is taking place on exposed moorland in October. Please dress
accordingly. Please remember that competitors take part at their own risk. Your safety whilst orienteering is your own responsibility. CLOK strongly recommends that you carry a whistle whilst participating in this (and every) orienteering event. Please remember that you must download even if you have not completed your course. |
