BRIERLEY & WYNYARD
on Sunday 28th September 2008

Location: Parking is in a field on the north side of the A689 at grid reference NZ 404285.

The A689 is a busy dual carriageway.  If you are approaching from the A19 side there is a gap in the central reservation approximately 100m beyond the pedestrian footbridge.  Please take great care when slowing down and making this right turn.

When leaving the event to travel west, it would be advisable to turn left (east) onto the A689.  It is only a short distance to the roundabout which will enable you to travel west safely.

A parking fee of 50p per vehicle will be collected at the gate.  Please have the correct cash ready.
Terrain: Runnable, mostly flat, woodland with patches of thicker woodland.  Some paths plus a large open grassy area.  A stream runs through the woods creating contour detail.  There is a patch of rough, semi-felled area but the courses have been planned to avoid this as much as possible.
Courses: All the normal colour coded courses from White to Blue.
A string course is still under consideration.
Map: 1:10,000 scale.    This is a new area which has been mapped by Dave Allison.    Maps will be printed on waterproof paper at A4 size.  Please note that the maps will not be bagged – if you would like to use a plastic bag then please bring your own.
Punching system: SPORTident electronic punching will be used.  SI cards will be available for hire on the day at a cost of 50p each.  There will be a £25 charge for any lost SI-card.
Registration: 10.00 a.m. - 12.00 noon
Note:   If you are going to bring a group of competitors to this event then please contact the Organiser in advance so that we can make the appropriate parking arrangements and print the right number of extra maps.
