Oh well, no sign of that missing SI card. I didn't win the lottery last week, either.

So moving on - it strikes me there's a weakness in using e-punching plus control card. Namely, what's to stop someone punching the Finish after visiting just a few controls, then visiting the rest at leisure?

Not very likely at a low-key event, that's all I suppose. Or you'd need a card-checker at the Finish.

Thank you to everyone who helped me last Sunday- I'm recovering well- my pot will hopefully come off this Thursday if a re-xray confirms no fracture so I hope to get running again before the end of the Summer. Apologies and sincere thanks to those who failed to finish their courses because of me and to those with torn arm muscles through carrying me down the hill. Thanks again.

SUBJECT:   Routegadget
Most people use Routegadget simply to compare routes between controls.  I appreciate that it is set up to use the output of SI with splits, but is there any way of still having it available to simply plot routes?

I really enjoyed the event, which managed to avoid the worst of the brambles.

Really enjoyed the navigation - more fun than some of the tamer areas. Thanks CLOK!

SUBJECT:   Brown Course
Errington is a tricky area, with all the paths and pits not to mention the brambles...
At least the weather was cool.
Just a couple of observations, having got to the first control and found the wrong kite hung on it threw me, I spent some time searching for the correct kite, only to decide it was in the correct place just wrongly marked.
The line linking control 11 to 12 covered a path which also threw me, OK it was the Brown course, but the line should not obscure key navigation features.

Thanks for the event.

SUBJECT:   Oh dear, a DNF.
Sorry to say I couldn't punch the finish because I'd lost my SI thingy somewhere in the woods. It was torn out of the nappy pin fastening it to my shirt. It's possibly still hanging from a tree or a bramble. Or someone just might have picked it up and wondered what to do with it. If anyone comes across red SI card #12511 then please get in touch!

SUBJECT:   Carolyn Rigby
For those who have been asking how Carolyn is.  She is very much better though hopping around.  Fortunately it was just ligaments torn and no break.

Thanks to everyone that helped in getting Carolyn back from the far end of the course!
