invites you to an Evening Orienteering Event at
HUTTON LOWCROSS
on Wednesday 1st August 2007

This is the third and final event of the 2007 Summer Series of evening orienteering events.
Location: Parking will be at the Christmas Tree car park above Hutton Village near Guisborough.  The grid reference is NZ 604135.

From the A171, turn south – signposted Great Ayton – on to the A173 at the roundabout north-west of Guisborough.  Take the first left on to Stokesley Road, go up and over a slight hill, and then turn right on to The Avenue at grid reference NZ 595154.  There will be O-signs from this point.  Where the road takes a 90 degree bend to the left (and becomes Hutton Lane), turn right towards Hutton Village.  Follow the road round through Hutton Village and into the woods.  At the top of a hill, turn left to the car park.

Please drive considerately through Hutton Village.
Terrain: Coniferous plantation on a steep hillside with some areas of contour detail.  There is significant undergrowth in some areas so leg protection is recommended.

BlueLong technical course. 
GreenMedium length technical course. :
Short Green        Short technical course. 
PurpleLong, navigationally easy course. 
RedMedium length, navigationally easy course.       

Note:  The course lengths will be added when they are available.

Map: 1:10,000 scale.    Pre-marked and bagged.
Punching system: SPORTident electronic punching will be used.  SI cards will be available for hire on the day at a cost of 50p each.
Registration: 6:00 - 6:45 p.m.
Starts: 6:15 - 7:00 p.m.         Courses close at 8:30 p.m.
Fees: Seniors:  £3.00     Juniors / Students / UB40:  £1.50
Facilities: Orange juice at the finish.   No toilets.
Dogs: Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the car parking area.

Safety: Please remember that competitors take part at their own risk.  Your safety whilst orienteering is your own responsibility.
You must carry a whistle whilst participating in this event.  Whistles will be available on loan from Registration.  CLOK strongly recommends that you carry a whistle whilst participating in every orienteering event.
