invites you to an Evening Orienteering Event at
COATHAM WOODS

This is the second event of the 2007 Summer Series of evening orienteering events.
Location: Coatham Woods are to the south of the A66 mid-way between Middlesbrough and Darlington.  The event will be signed from the A66 junction at the eastern end of Longnewton at grid reference NZ 385168.  About 50 metres after leaving the A66, turn left on to a cul-de-sac running parallel to the A66.
Terrain: Coatham Woods is a very new forest park.  There are some fairly mature trees in the southern part of the area, but most of the trees are still saplings, offering good visibility and fast running.  There will be very little climb on any of the courses.
Courses:
BlueLong technical course.8.7 km + 40m climb
GreenMedium length technical course.5.9 km + 20m climb
Short Green        Short technical course.4.6 km + 20m climb
PurpleLong, navigationally easy course.9.4 km + 40m climb
RedMedium length, navigationally easy course.      6.3 km + 20m climb
Map: 1:10,000 scale.    Pre-marked and bagged.
Punching system: SPORTident electronic punching will be used.  SI cards will be available for hire on the day at a cost of 50p each.
Registration: 6:00 - 6:45 p.m.
Starts: 6:15 - 7:00 p.m.         Courses close at 8:30 p.m.
Fees: Seniors:  £3.00     Juniors / Students / UB40:  £1.50
Facilities: Orange juice at the finish.   No toilets.
Dogs: Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the car parking area.

You must carry a whistle whilst participating in this event.  Whistles will be available on loan from Registration.  CLOK strongly recommends that you carry a whistle whilst participating in every orienteering event.
