Firstly I would like to thank all the helpers who, as always, did a wonderful
job. Special mention to Di Wright who had the nerve-racking experience
of taking responsibility for the computer system for the first time!
Everything seemed to work flawlessly. The planner and controller
did a good job and certainly made my life easier.
The turn-out (123) was about as expected given the remoteness, school half
term, and clash of dates with other events. The weather was the best I
have ever known for the time of year at Skelder and most people I talked to
seemed to have enjoyed themselves.
Apologies to all those who got stuck in the parking field. The recent
dry weather had made us over-confident as the field seemed much drier than in
previous years. It was certainly a surprise to get 4-wheel drive land
rovers stuck. In fact the 4-wheel drive vehicles seemed to have more
trouble than ordinary cars! Certainly the sight of a JCB pulling the
last 4WD Subaru out provided great entertainment for those who were there to
the end!!
