Organiser's Comments
An excellent turnout of 55 riders – thanks to all.
I hope you enjoyed the ride even those who were tempted out to the far
west corners and suffered time penalties as a result. Most of the
"short-cut" bridleways made for good riding – apologies though to those
who took on the muddy bridleway west of Welbury which I should have marked
"wet" on the map). Lesson for future lanequests at this time of year
– bridleways without indication of a farm track or similar on the map
carry a high high level of risk!
I have changed a few results slightly from the on-the-day results, having
rechecked the maths.
Particular thanks go to Peter and Marion Archer and the East Harlsey Village
Hall committee – for the dry, warm venue and for providing refreshments
– the cakes certainly went down well!
Thanks also to Phill Batts for map printing and to Paul Thornton and Chris
Wright for help with entries and registration.
The next CLOK Lanequest event is on Saturday 24th February 2007 – based at
Hutton Rudby. As well as being the last event of the CLOK winter series,
this will be the first event of the NEMBOS 2007 series. Full details and
location will be on the CLOK web site at
www.clok.org.uk within the next few
days.
